If you follow CJ Affiliate on social media, you may have seen the statement we shared in response to the social justice movement that’s currently unfolding across the US and the world.
Perhaps you also noticed that we’ve been much quieter than usual - this is intentional. Although we love publishing thought provoking and helpful content around our industry and products, at this time, there are much more vital and important conversations happening across the globe.
One thing that's clear: actions speak much louder than words. This is not a time for empty promises. We said that we're committed to continuing the conversation around change and that we expect to be held accountable. We feel it’s important to share the steps we’ve taken and will be taking over the next couple of weeks to listen, learn, and do better.
Setting a Benchmark to Measure Progress
Last week, CJ Affiliate sent a company-wide survey to all global offices to hear from our people about how we’re currently doing around diversity and inclusion, as well as offer a safe space for associates to provide ideas for additional change. The response we’ve seen so far is incredible and the thoughtful suggestions and feedback we’ve received will be reviewed by our leadership team to spark new initiatives. This survey also includes numerical ratings that we’ll use on an ongoing basis to measure our progress.
Pausing for Action
On Wednesday, June 17th, our parent company, Publicis Groupe will host a dedicated day of intentional programming and planning that will inform the future of work with inclusion and equity at the centre.
Earlier this month, all associates were asked to take a day off on or leading up to June 19th (Juneteenth) to process, begin to heal, and to prepare for or reflect on this day of planning.
An Ongoing Commitment
The journey to equality requires long-term, focused, intentional efforts. These are just a few of the steps of many that we will take on our journey towards greater diversity and inclusion here at CJ Affiliate, within the affiliate industry and in our ongoing commitment to fight racism.
